“Change”

Hey fellow writers!

Hope 2015 has proven to be an epic year so far for you! I’ve been able to do a lot of writing so far this year, as I’m working on several projects at the moment.

You know when you get a certain spark of inspiration? I was inspired to write something about “change” today. I don’t know why, but I suddenly needed to get it out on paper. Below is the poem that resulted. I hope you enjoy!

“Change”

By Savannah Ostler

Being yourself today

Staying true to who you are

Keeping on your way

Eager to get far

Not an easy thing to do

When everything changes around you.

Friends once kept so dear

Now just shadows in your mind

Then creeps in the fear

You’ve left it all behind

The memories, the places

The people, the faces

If the world stayed the same

Life would be so tame

But life is always in motion

Carrying away like the ocean

A thought so strange

If the world is always changing

We too must change

Through the eyes of a child

Hi friends! Happy Monday. 🙂

I wanted to start this week off with a bang, and I found some inspiration this morning to write a poem when I saw a couple of neighborhood kids playing. As I watched them play, I thought about how carefree and fun-loving kids are. They are innocent. They are bright. Everything is new to them. Everything is exciting. They haven’t at all been jaded, they are dreamers. They are fearless!

So, here’s my poem. I hope you enjoy it!

Child palms colorful paint

“Through The Eyes of a Child

The world shines so bright

So much possibility

Dazzling colors and light

Living with humility

Through the eyes of a child

Life is playful, life is fun

So much to see

Playing in the sand and sun

Alive and carefree

Through the eyes of a child

Music is everywhere

There’s so much to do

Hope is in the air

 When dreams come true

Through the eyes of a child

What happens when a child grows

Their optimistic heart soon goes

The dreams that they once painted

Are now all torn and tainted

If we could cherish their point of view

Looking at the world a new

Restore the youth

Treat each other kind

Then a new world we would find

Through the eyes of a child.
